Becoming a Certified Practitioner

To become a Certified Move to Learn (MtL) Practitioner, you will need:

  • To be familiar with the MtL material (books, booklets & DVD)
  • To pass the MtL written Certification examination
  • To pass the 2 day MtL Assessment Seminar
  • To agree to the terms & conditions of Certification

NB: It is also strongly recommended that you hold a current First Aid Certificate. It is wise to be prepared in this area when children are involved.

Certification will provide you with:

  • A certificate on the wall ‘Certified Practitioner’ (CP).
  • The right to use the Move to Learn logo on approved materials
  • A personalised product order sheet (PDF) with your contact details on it
  • The option to obtain official artwork for a personalised MtL Business card at a small extra charge.
  • Access to Move to Learn (MtL) artwork for use in promotional material or PowerPoint presentations
  • 10% discount on all products
  • Free advertising on the MtL website – (link, Bio., listings for seminars or events etc.)
  • Free advertisement in Missiles. (yearly mention & promotion for any special events)
  • Referrals from MtL
  • Access to ‘in-house’ articles with special tips.

Certification will cost you:

  • An enrolment fee of $270.00 - which covers:- the marking of the written exam, ($100.00), and an administration fee, ($170.00) (which includes the first year’s membership fee  & an information pack including personalised promotional materials).
  • A yearly membership fee of $100.00 (which covers insurance & administration costs.)
  • Assessment costs – You will be required to attend a 2 day Assessment Seminar which will cost $500 plus personal accommodation & travel costs. These seminars will be run periodically and held in various locations around the country. Seminars may also be arranged to suit a group of applicants in a location of their choice – provided an assessor is available and their travel & accommodation costs are covered by the group. Some applicants may be given an exemption from the face to face seminar if they provide a DVD of themselves teaching a session & organise a telephone conference call. (The same assessment fee will apply.) Exemptions will be granted entirely at the discretion of MtL.
  • Every CP will be expected to observe and comply with all laws and regulations in connection with teaching, instruction and consultation work, of any country, state or territory that they are working in using the MtL materials. This might include acquiring insurance or permissions to practice. There will likely be other expenses involved with setting up & running a small business as well. We advise you research this thoroughly before setting out on this new venture. (see our article ‘Starting up a new business’.
  • A complete set of the products $150 – (no need to buy if you already own this, but every CP is expected to own a complete set)
  • Expenses involved with obtaining, and keeping current, a First Aid Certificate. Ensuring adequate first aid provisions when working with children is a legal requirement in many countries and is highly recommended by us even if it is not legally required.

Responsibilities of a Certified Practitioner to Move to Learn:

  • You will be expected to respect MtL copyright, and endeavour to make sure that your clients & contacts do as well.
  • You may work with other programs and methods as well as MtL, including your own adaptations and additions – but you must make the demarcation clear to clients (this is mine, this is… and this is MtL)
  • You must have read, be completely familiar with & understand the MtL material
  • You must be familiar with the website
  • You must be familiar with product prices & ordering procedures
  • You must endeavour to keep current with industry information in general

Responsibilities of MtL to you as a CP:

  • We will make it our first priority to keep the website up and running
  • to meet product orders
  • And to provide section 1 above (Certification will provide you with:)
